For a class assignment I was given a chord progression then asked to build a MIDI rhythm bed and song around it, and this is what I came up with.

The phrase "I am here" is powerful regardless of what context. If I want to tell someone I love them I can say "I am here" so they know I am here and love them regardless of what happens. If I'm dealing with someone who hates me I can say "I am here" and show them regardless of what they try to do to me to make my life here, I am unabridged by them. I wrote the lyrics to be intentionally ambiguous to have both of those meanings.
