Peter Morgan's original song, "Transparent," is inspired by a variety of personal experiences where pertinent information has been hidden or vaguely communicated, resulting in unnecessary emotional trauma, psychological warfare, and a lack of trust, which is only exacerbated by a culture of shame.

One the most prominent situations that inspired the current lyrics of "Transparent" related to Morgan's response to the the lack of official information and documentation regarding the beard exclusion policy at Brigham Young University. The lyrics are written as if the speaker is being cheated on, to make it more relatable, since the experience of attempting to obtain a license to grow and maintain a beard is quite niche.

Jacob Hanna created the MIDI instrumentation and produced the whole track. Morgan performed vocals, recorded by Hanna. Morgan wrote "Transparent" in the Fall of 2019. Photo credit for photo used in album cover to Katya Jackson.
